My Rope

The tugboat should be my safety
The tugboat should be my safety
The tugboat should be my safety
Where is it taking me?
Ignoring my anchor?
Silent it pulls
Me through
Heavy dark morning wake
I was
Happy at the harbor
So quiet, so sure of itself
While, again
Again
It pulls me without consideration
But I'm still too tired
This early in the morning
To even fight
And so I cut
My rope
Goodbye
Tugboat.
